Coming Together for a Great Cause
Supporting our community is at the heart of everything we do. That’s why we’re thrilled to be sponsoring the brand-new St Nic’s Cycle Ride 2025 – a refreshed and re-energised event in support of St Nicholas Hospice Care.
Taking place on Sunday, 11 May 2025, the event is more than just a cycle ride. It’s a celebration of community spirit, personal challenge, and collective support for a cause that touches the lives of so many across West Suffolk and Thetford.
Cycling for a Cause That Matters
Replacing the long-standing Edge Cycle Ride, the new St Nic’s Cycle Ride brings a fresh format and inclusive routes designed to welcome cyclists of all ages and abilities. Riders can choose from a 25km, 50km, or 100km road route, or, for those after a different kind of challenge, a 65km gravel ride.
Whether it’s your first time on the saddle or you’re a seasoned cyclist, there’s a route that offers the perfect balance of challenge and enjoyment – all while raising vital funds for St Nicholas Hospice Care.
Why We’re Getting Involved
As returning sponsors, the whole team at Atkins Dellow is proud to support the hospice, not just financially, but through active involvement. For us, it’s not just about logos on banners – it’s about showing up, participating, and being part of something meaningful.
Our Partner, Rob Dellow, puts it best: “The St Nic’s Cycle Ride is a real highlight for us each year, and we’re pleased to be sponsoring it once again. It’s more than just a fundraising event—it’s a chance for the community to come together in support of a cause that touches so many lives. St Nicholas Hospice provides incredible care to those who need it most, and we’re delighted to contribute in any way we can. Whether it’s pushing ourselves on the longer routes or just enjoying the ride, we always have a great time, and we hope to see even more people joining in this year.”
In the lead-up to the event, our team will be training together, encouraging each other, and working towards a shared goal: to raise as much money as possible to help the hospice continue its vital work.
About St Nicholas Hospice Care
St Nicholas Hospice Care provides specialist care, advice, and support to people facing life-limiting illnesses, and to their families and carers. Their work goes far beyond medical care — they provide emotional, spiritual, and practical support to help individuals live well in the time they have, and to help loved ones through the difficult times of loss and grief.
The hospice’s reach spans across West Suffolk and Thetford, and their services are delivered both at the hospice itself and out in the community, through home visits and local hubs.
Their Events Manager, Charlie De-Moore, shared a heartfelt message: “We are incredibly grateful to Atkins Dellow for their continued support and commitment to St Nicholas Hospice Care. The St Nic’s Cycle Ride is not just about raising funds but also about bringing the community together to support hospice care. Every rider, every sponsor, and every donation helps us continue providing essential care and support to those facing dying, death and grief. We can’t wait to see everyone at the start line, making a difference one pedal at a time.”
A Day of Connection, Challenge and Camaraderie
There’s something special about a community event that brings people together, whether they’re riding, cheering, donating or volunteering. Events like the St Nic’s Cycle Ride remind us what’s possible when we unite for a cause — and how much joy can come from working together.
We’ve seen first-hand the impact that hospice care has on families. It’s personal, profound and lasting. That’s why it means so much to us to give back through this event – and we’d love to see you alongside us on the day.
How You Can Get Involved
Whether you’re a keen cyclist, part of a local business, or simply want to support a great cause, there are lots of ways to get involved. You can ride, donate, volunteer, spread the word, or just come along on the day to cheer everyone on.
However you choose to take part, you’ll be helping to make a real difference to those in our community who need hospice care.
